Keeping in view the cause of “Gauseva” and “Jivdaya” the trust incept started a well equipped modern State of The Art Veterinary Hospital 'Nandini' at Surat in the year 2000 where the animals of Shri Surat Panjarapole and the animals of entire southern part of Gujarat are treated, operated and nurtured with great care by well experienced and expert Veterinary doctors, surgeons, researchers, gynecologist, pathologist and physicians. The Hospital has following departments.
“Out Patient Department” for small & large animals, where the animals are checked by doctors and treated by experienced L.I & attendants. There are 3 Operation theaters where the animals are surgically operated in deserving cases. For investigation of disease of animals
X-ray department with modern sonography machine, C.R System, Pathological laboratory equipped with advanced instruments which are functioning efficiently. After operating, the animals for further follow up treatment, facility of Indoor ward is provided where about 100 animals can be treated round the clock.
Dermatological department in the hospital where facility of trimming/cutting of hair, cutting of nails, antitick bath, Shampoo bath etc are available.
The hospital also has a behavioral treatment department where pet animals are trained by a retired BSF animal trainer
The hospital has a bird ward where injured birds are treated and kept in special protective cages. In the month of January, before and after Makar Sankranti many birds get injured by the thread of kites are brought by many N.G.Os for treatment and if required they are operated by surgeons.
Facility of a decent dog motel is provided by the hospital to the pet owners for keeping their pets in the Dog Motel when the pet owners go out of station.
From the inception of Nandini Veterinary hospital in the year 2000 till today about 1,60,000 animals are being treated, about 2200 animals are operated, X-ray of 3200 animals, Sonography and ECG of 1600 animals and in Pathological Laboratory 20000 different tests are carried out.
Nandini Hospital also frequently arranges Health Check up Camps in different villages in association with Sumul Dairy, Choryasi Dairy where the animals of their members are checked and treated by doctors and surgeons. The Doctors and Surgeons of the hospital also extend their assistance in the health check up camps arranged by the Animal Husbandry Department of Gujarat State Government at different villages. Injured and sick stray animals in and around Surat city which are brought by the people for treatment are treated and operated in the hospital without any charges. An amount of about 13 to 14 lacks is spent every year for the treatment of such stray animals.
The doctors of the hospital attend the National and regional Veterinary conferences regularly where they present their study papers, which are recognized and the doctors were conferred with Gold Medals on several occassions. Their study papers are also published in the Veterinary Journals. The doctors of Nandini Hospitals are invited by different Veterinary universities to conduct interviews, Viva and to deliver speech on different subjects as faculty member in the conferences and symposiums arranged by different universities and organizations. Nandini Hospital has been recognised by Anand Agriculture University, Navsari Agriculture University, Sardar Krushinagar Agriculture University, Dantiwada and Junagadh Agriculture University for the internship of their Graduate & Post Graduate Students, live stock inspectors to impart practical training.
The trust has adopted a mission named “Mission Antiplastic” under which the cows which are found to have gulped with their food, large quantity of plastic in their rumen (stomach) along with other solid wastages which by skilful surgery are extracted from the rumen. Till today about 250 cows are successfully operated in trust's “Nandini Veterinary Hospital” under this “Mission Antiplastic” and saved their lives.
